Here is a post brought over from my Wordpress...

Once in the past, in a world corrupt with human decay, stood a man willing to give what he had to preserve order for the sake of humanity.  Most of civilization had failed.  Governments crumbled, society ended.  With the onslaught of this new hell called zombie, mankind was forced to regroup and evolve.

With what was left of humanity, a few gathered where they could; to tell the stories of courage, and of destruction.  Few leaders existed in these dark times; most living in fear.  There would not be a grand rescue from the military, nor an escape to the moon.  There would only be hunger.  Hunger to live, hunger to run, hunger to fight; and for them, hunger for us.

One man's quest for existence is assigned to him the moment his world is torn apart.  His family brutally slain by those murderous creatures of men, this lone soul once again turns to the way of the gun in hopes to rid his world of these nightmares.  Using his skills and training from the elite military, one man's courage and spirit will be put to the ultimate test to prevent the annihilation of mankind; and so evolves:  Chance Mason, Zombie Slayer For Hire...

The above is somewhat of an introduction to an idea for a series I'm kicking around.  The 'Field Guide' is going well, but it's not much of a story.  The whole 'Zombie Slayer' personna needs to be developed to tell the story.  And also from a merchandising standpoint, I could market a lot more products with a fully developed storyline.  I have been thinking about the background of the person's perspective from the guide, and this person emerged.  The series would pre-date the field guide, and tell the stories of the battles and developments leading up to the field guide.

It's still a concept, not sure if it will reach fruition; I have a few other things going on, too.  If I start on this series (I already have ideas), then that means Necro-Gears might not get done as soon as I had hoped.  It will be a much bigger book, but the series would be a lot of fun to put together, and would be set up to weave in and out of a few other stories.  We'll see...
